THE APOCALYPSE

I know what you are all thinking...did Lys die? The answer is no, but all hell did break loose in good ole London! The reason I have not written a blog in 3 days is because the internet went out in the entire West End of London for 2 entire days! ATM's didn't work, credit card machines failed at businesses, phone lines were broke, and tons of businesses got out early. It was ridiculous!!! We thought perhaps the apocalypse was occurring. We also all quickly learned that living without internet is awful!!!! But I survived!!

So now to update you on all the happenings that have happened this week!

So Tuesday was Emily's birthday, so we got to celebrate in rehearsal! We worked on the entire Act 1. It looks SOOO good! And everyone was in such a better mood. Probably because we spent 2 and a half hours of the morning having individual meetings with Rania just so she could check in with all of us, which was basically just time to chat about life. But we were still productive the second part of the day :) Also we have to start wearing heels all the time in rehearsal...OMG, they kill! My feet hurt so bad every day!!! That night we went to a club to celebrate Emily's and Mara's birthday. I was super tired though, so I just kinda sat at a table and chatted, but we had a nice time. Oh also, found out the word for band aids is "plaster" in british and that we pronounce Renaissance differently. Rania proceeded to make fun of Americans by saying this exact sentence "you put your band aids on your Renaissance cooters" in a New York accent. It was hysterical!!

Wednesday was Mara's birthday, which we also celebrated in rehearsal! We ran Act 1 and then started blocking Act 2. Rania started calling me Alyssa, which I told her was weird and made me feel like I was in trouble, and because she likes shortening peoples names she know calls me Al. I kinda like it. She also calls people Fanny Adams or diddums when she can't remember their names fast enough. It's hysterical. At the end of Act 1 there are mini fight scenes, and David is my partner. Well today, we got to use blood packets!!! So I bit down on this capsule before Im suppose to bang my head on the ground, and my mouth was covered in blood! It was SOOO cool! I went to the bathroom to clean up afterwards and 2 people from the other cast were like "Oh my God are you okay?" ahhhhhh soo fun!!! When we got to the whore scene in Act 2 she decided we would do a naked rehearsal, so she kicked the boys out and all the girls slipped into lingerie (including her because she said she would never ask her actors to do something she would not) and we ran that scene. It was a lot of fun and very hysterical. At the end of it though, we were in such crazy moods, we didn't get much else done. And we got out semi early, which was great! I came home and tried to write my theatre history paper which was basically just me writing down ideas and quotes from the book (yeah no internet! But I definitely am using that as an excuse for no sources...). Then I got sick of some of my flat mates who are getting on my last nerve, so I went to visit Lauren and Alina. I ended up talking with Ashley Marie and Lydian as well for about two hours. It was really wonderful. I miss them!!!

Which finally brings me to today which was also wonderful! It's so nice just working on a show and not having to take classes, but still learning! We finished working through act 2 and into act 3. It's a slow process, but everything is looking so great. Rania told us today that during breaks all the directors talk about the students that are getting on their nerves and they wish they could trade and Rania said she felt like a bitch saying she loved everyone in her cast :) It's true, we definitely have the best cast and the best show! We did a lingerie rehearsal again, except this time with the boys, many of which had to be in their boxers. It went really well though!! Rania has been really fun recently and very brutally honest, which is always really funny even when she is being strict. We wanted to play an April Fools joke on her, but we didn't get to the song that we planned on doing (we were going to insert dont stop believing instead) that or switch rooms with another cast, but they all started at different times today. Anyway we made it through the first scene of act 3, and we are doing the rest tomorrow and then doing a run of the show!! And then I am going to DUBLIN with Heather and other Miami people!!!!! YEAH! Soooo excited!

Well now I REALLY REALLY have to go write this paper so it is not complete crap and I am not up all night! But I won't have internet till Monday I don't think, so expect another LONG blog soon!!!
