Essence of Chicken

Started the morning off right with coffee and ipod music walk to school!

Voice class was "eh" as usual. We did some warm up type things that I can't really remember. Then 3 people did monologues for the class and Jessica gave them feedback on it. Last we did monologues to one another in the three different types of voice (High, middle, low) and from no speaking to whispering to full volume. It was actually pretty useful.

Then we had movement where we played the Essence game again. Livy did my essence, but I didn't guess it. I remember some of the things I was-- sneakers, a comfy sweater, VW bug, Stalking, chocolate dessert, My girl (the song), pop music like Corinne Rae, chicken take out food (which totally works because it reminded me of Chick-fil-a), a heart, and Love Actually.

During my break I wrote my stage combat notes and almost finished editing/adjusting my paper. I did one of my Cornet scenes in high comedy. We have to be officially off book now, so thank goodness I didn't have my Lady Brute scene today. He is still giving TONS of notes, but he is too funny. He told Emily today that "Strap light bulbs on your bosom. Show them off" and then he said "Relish the words, like covering yourself in whip cream." Oh, Norman! We definitely have some funny teachers.

In Micks class we played a jumping tag game which was really hard. We played frogs, and our group is getting so good! We get all the way up to like 8 frogs before messing up. And I made it to the final 3 people today! Guess my math brain was on. We also learned a new song about a boat, which I really enjoyed. We worked on ensemble work by going from 1-5 levels of intensity with the reaction of seeing someone you haven't seen in awhile and being scared. It was pretty fun. Finally, we started on more mask work. We broke into groups and then "interviewed" one person in our groups character before we all got back together and then Mick interviewed them. I didn't go today, but probably tomorrow. I'm excited/nervous about going because now everyone in my class expects me to be hysterical...hope I don't disappoint!

Tonight I had a delicious dinner of chicken, corn, and carrots and have just been hanging with the roomies. Now I must buckle down and finish refining my paper and memorizing Brute lines.
