I woke up this morning and went to McDonalds with Emily and Livy. I was all excited for a sausage bagel when I realized they weren't serving breakfast anymore. I came back home and memorized my Shakespeare scene (yeah for accomplishing something!) Now I just have to get comfortable with the lines. I read the play Stop Kiss and found a scene I think I am going to do for my audition, which is a relief. I worked on some stuff for Miami, and before I knew it, I had to get ready for the show!
We left at 5 on a charter bus to get to the theatre because it was an hour away. I sat with Zack so we could go over our scene. We did a little bit, but I am still not comfortable with it yet. We got there with some time to spare, so a group of us went to a pub to get dinner. It ended up being me, Kate, Rachel, Lauren, Alyssa, Nathalie, and Alina. We had a really good time, and after we ate we got cupcakes from a super cute bakery.
We headed to the theatre to see Midsummer Nights Dream with Dame Judi Dench directed by Peter Hall. Our seats were way up in the sky as usual, but we still had a pretty good view. I thought Dench did a wonerful job, and the guy playing Bottom was the best I had ever seen. Absolutely hysterical. Puck overacted WAY too much, and everyone else did well. I mean it was good entertainment, but it wasn't anything to write home about. I think shows are going to be hard to beat after seeing Measure to Measure. Funny story though, Mac went to the bathroom during intermission and was talking to another BADA student about how she didn't like Puck, and the lady in front of her said, "Oh, that's my son." She felt so awkward/awful! Everyone found it really funny though. Apparently they started talking a little after that though. hehe. Lesson learned...never talk about the actors in the theatre! lol.
As soon as we got out, we had to head straight for the bus. I didn't realize how exhausted I was, but I'm off to bed because I am getting up early to do MORE memorizing and HW before the Chinese New Year Celebration!
